IMTI does not charge student tuition.
Instead, IMTI provides employers with a consultative training service to educate their employees on issues of safety, equipment maintenance & repair, as well as regulatory compliance.
Participants are accepted into IMTI courses based on a review of individual qualifications and an employer decision to use IMTI course programming as an outsourced component of their overall training & development program.

Chassis Mechanic Training & Certificate Program
2 Week | IMTI Full Immersion Training Program
Core chassis mechanic training geared toward entry level mechanics, as well as continuing education and certifications for tenured mechanics. The IMTI Chassis Mechanic Core Training Course delivers training in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as they relate to intermodal equipment (IME).
Continuing Education:
Electrical Module provides Lite-Check training and Truck-Lite Certification
Tires, Wheels & Rims Module provides Tire Industry Association (TIA) Certification
Brakes Module provides STEMCO Certification and wheel end qualification to ATA TMC recommended practices
FMCSA Inspection Procedures
For more experienced mechanics, the above modules can be attended independently and in any combination to sharpen skills, refocus on proper procedures and ensure ongoing safety and regulatory compliance.
Non-Mechanic Education:
M&R for the Non-Mechanic Course
Maintenance and Repair for Non-Mechanics training is geared toward personnel that support the M&R process. This includes managers, front line M&R supervisors, safety, purchasing, billing and administrative personnel. Participants learn the key factors important to safely maintaining intermodal equipment (IME) in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. The course provides M&R process understanding in order to drive efficiency, productivity and profitability.
This 2.5-day training session focuses on personnel supporting the M&R process, including:

Chassis Mechanic Training & Certificate Program
2 Week | IMTI Full Immersion Training Program
Core chassis mechanic training geared toward entry level mechanics, as well as continuing education and certifications for tenured mechanics. The IMTI Chassis Mechanic Core Training Course delivers training in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as they relate to intermodal equipment (IME).
- 49 CFR Part 393 (Parts and Accessories Necessary for Safe Operation);
- 396.19 (Inspector Qualifications);
- 396.25 (Qualifications of Brake Inspectors); and
- Appendix G (Minimum Periodic Inspection Standards)
